An excellent opportunity for a 3rd Line Support Systems Engineer to work for an International Law Firm.

The right candidate will have previous legal or professional services experience and any of the following accreditations; MCP, MCSE, ITIL Prince 2.

Principal Accountabilities
• Technically run the SQL Server infrastructure globally
• Maintain and support the VM Ware environments, providing servers for all projects and technical services teams
• Administration and support of global active directory
• Document 3rd line systems and services ensuring that they are well maintained
• Responsible for system health checks resolving issues and escalating where appropriate
• Ensuring DR and BCP plans are updated, documented, tested as necessary
Main Responsibilities
• Ensure incident escalations are dealt with in a timely fashion
• Plan and implement changes to the server estate and SQL server environment following ITIL release management best practice
• Production of performance monitoring metrics to report success\failures of systems.
• Provide project and BAU activities for yearly budgeting process
• Strong 3rd line technical support and troubleshooting
• Experience of working in project teams delivering global solutions
• Ability to mentor 2nd/3rd line support team
Technical Skills:
• Extensive experience working with Active Directory (ideally multi-site)
• Strong MS Windows 2003 server
• Excellent VM Ware experience (ideally vs. 4)
• Excellent SQL Server 2005/2008 64 bit clustered environments
• Networking - TCP/IP, DHCP,DNS,WINS & SMTP
